### What is Spy – Event Tracking?

**Spy – Event Tracking** is a real-time monitoring tool that tracks mentions of **keywords, phrases, channels, or chats across Telegram**.

It helps you instantly detect when:

* your brand is mentioned;
* competitors appear in discussions;
* specific topics or events start trending.

Spy Tracking works like a Telegram radar — continuously scanning content and notifying you when something important appears.

Spy Tracking allows you to:

* track mentions of specific channels or chats;

### How to create a new spy

#### Step 1. Select the spying type

Choose what you want to monitor.

**Words and phrases**\
Track mentions of specific keywords or phrases across Telegram.

**Channels or chats**\
Track mentions or events related to a specific Telegram channel or chat.\

#### Step 2. Configure monitoring settings

**If you choose&#x20;*****Words and phrases***

1. Enter a Spy name\
   Example: `TON updates`
2. Add keywords or phrases\
   Examples: `TON`, `airdrop`, `staking`\
   Click **Add** after each entry.
3. (Optional) Add exclude words\
   Examples: `casino`, `bet`\
   This helps remove irrelevant mentions.
4. (Optional) Enable Telegram notifications\
   Activate **@TelemetrAlertBot** to receive alerts.
5. Click **Next**.

**If you choose&#x20;*****Channels or chats***

1. Enter the channel or chat name\
   Example: `@toncoin`
2. Select which events to track:
   * Mention of the channel
   * Removal of the channel mention
3. Connect **@TelemetrAlertBot** to receive notifications.
4. Click **Next**.\

#### Step 3. Add targeting filters (for channels and groups)

Refine monitoring results using filters:

* Channel country
* Channel language
* Channel category
* Minimum number of subscribers

Choose where to search:

* In any channels or chats
* Only in specific channels or chats
* Exclude selected channels or chats

### Viewing results

After creation:

* All spies are displayed in Spy – Tracking events.
* Each spy shows:
* Name
* Number of mentions
* Trend chart
* Click View mentions to explore details.

### Telegram notifications

Enable **@TelemetrAlertBot** to receive instant alerts:

* Channel name
* Post snippet
* Direct link
* Publication time
